Christmas 2008

2008 was a very special year for us. So in honor of that, we celebrated Christmas 4 times! We kicked the festivities off with The Moye Family. Mary Elizabeth and Madeline had fun eating cupcakes while Emerson played with her new fish bowl toy.

Grandma and Pops drove down from Nashville for a few days and we had a ball with them. Santa even made a special visit to our house- he was a funny looking Santa with fogged up glasses. Emerson was very good, she let Santa hold her. We even got a family picture with Santa! Off to Christmas Eve mass we went. While the choir was singing Silent Night, Emerson yelled out, "Ba ba ba ba ba ba ba." It was so funny. Grandma and Pops spoiled us with lots of neat gifts. Emerson really enjoyed ripping the paper off the gifts and trying to eat it. She got lots of cute outfits, a tailgate chair, bla bla doll and of course, lots of toys!

Next to arrive was the Deason Clan. Melissa and Thomas had their first official Christmas together as a married couple. In honor of that, we all surprised them with fancy ornaments for their tree next year. We did our Secret Santa gift exchange Friday night- Thomas and Chris both had each other and each one bought the other a gag gift. The rule is that if you give a gag gift that is an article of clothing, you have to try it on. Thomas gave Chris a purple, youth large under armour cold gear shirt and Chris gave Thomas a man's footless onesie with deer, moose, caribou antlers on it. Unfortunately, you will see the picture, try to contain your laughter. The girls got Mom and Dad Guitar Hero- which they loved. It was good entertainment for sure. Everyone spoiled Emerson- she got lots of neat toys, Baby Einstein videos (I highly recommend Baby Noah), dresses and books.

Nana, Aunt Pam and Jack came over one afternoon and gave Emerson some more gifts! Aunt Pam gave her the neatest animal book that makes sounds and Nana got her a toy horsey that she can ride. They also played some Guitar Hero!

For New Years, we drove up to Atlanta to visit Uncle Brian, Aunt Mandy and cousins Madison and Carter. We had a fun time catching up and the kids had fun playing together. Madison loved having two babies at her house to take care of. She helped give Emerson her bath each night and loved to help with everything except stinky diaper changes! She is a smart cookie. Uncle Brian and Aunt Mandy made Emerson a really pretty step stool. They also gave Emerson her first baby and several cute outfits (one tube top outfit for summer). We did not get to see Aunt Kate and Uncle Troy for Christmas, but we hope to see them soon!

Chris and I had a ball with Emerson's gifts this year. We got her some fun toys, puzzles and lots of books. We got ourselves a new camera for Christmas. It rocks. I love it. I took over 1,000 pictures over the holidays, that is why it has taken me so long to put this slideshow together. It is over 7 minutes long and won't let me add anymore music. Hope you enjoy and thank you everyone for such a fun and special first holiday with our family and baby Emerson.
