More Shower Pictures
While the shower was going on, we had our own party in the back room. Us pregnant ladies had to get some pictures. Mandy and Brian came all the way from Atlanta for the shower- they just found out they are having a little boy in July! Karen, my best friend from Aiken and college roomie and her hubby, Scott, live in Charlotte, but it was the first time I had seen her pregnant (she is due June 2nd). We took some pictures of our own. The Charlie’s Angels pose is too funny. I am 25 weeks, Mandy is 19 weeks, and Karen is 26 weeks.

Kim's New Job!
I knew that when Chris and I moved to Charleston that I wanted to get involved in some volunteer work. I have always wanted to work with animals, and I am finally doing it. I have been volunteering at the Charleston Animal Society and I love it!
When I first started, the shelter was located in several trailers behind the Charleston County Jail, not a very inviting place for people to adopt animals, much less the conditions for the animals were not ideal. After much fundraising, the new adoption center is a dream come true. Over 30,000 sf! In 2007, 12,000 animals came through the shelter. I am not just talking dogs and cats people, but birds, snakes, hamsters, rabbits and even horses! That comes to an average of 37 animals a day brought in due to strays, owners can’t care for anymore or choose not to, owners abandoning them and even torture. The animal society gets the animals healthy again and finds the animal a good, loving home.
If you are interested in helping a great cause, you can donate the following items to your local spca, or send them to me and I will take them!
Just to name a few: shoe boxes, kitty litter, cat and dog treats, cat and dog toys, tennis balls and towels for the animals to lay on.
How can you say no to these sweet faces?! Below are some pictures of the rabbits and doggies that are currently looking for a good home. I also attached a picture of the new shelter. It opens officially March 8th.

The Bride-To-Be
Most of you know I have 3 younger sisters. Jacki is days away from being 28, Melissa is 25 and Katie is 23. Melissa is getting married on May 17th to Thomas Rhea. We are all so excited. We have been very busy planning for the big day- I am the self designated wedding planner. We are now in the middle of shower central. I attached some pictures from a shower in Pawleys Island in December and one from this past weekend in Charlotte. Dad got to fly in from California, so that was extra nice to see him. He especially enjoyed not having to cook while at home. It was great to see everyone- as you can tell, we love to take pictures!

Baby Riley Has A Name!
EMERSON MCRAE RILEY
And before you ask, we will call her Emerson. That is the number one question I have received so far.
I turned 30 on February 19th. I still can't believe it. Chris and I had a great dinner at Rue de Jean, one of our favorite restaurants in downtown Charleston. On my real birthday, Miriam (best friend and college roommate) celebrated at Bocci's Italian restaurant downtown and then the next night was Miriam's 30th Birthday, so we celebrated some more at a Mexican restaurant called Maria's.
I attached a few pictures below:
My belly at 24 weeks.
